HALF-DAY SUMMER CAMP       8:30am – 1:00pm      (Mon – Thurs for 2 weeks)

Morning Teams, Four 45-minute classes, Lunch and virtual recess

    

Students will be divided into teams based on entering grade (1st – 3rd; 4th-6th, 7th -9th, 10th &11th). Each team meets at the beginning of camp for small group games, discussion and bonding time with their Team Leader. They will then rotate through their group classes. There will be a 5-minute break in between each class. Bathroom and snack breaks are encouraged to be taken in between classes and not during class. Students are under supervision by their teacher and/or Youth Leader. An administrator will visit classrooms on a regular basis. We also ask that parents/guardians also supervise to provide their child(ren) with some guidance and technical support as necessary.Lunchtime & Recess is held from 12:25 – 1:00where Team Leaders and students can eat their lunch together and either have an open chat/discussion time or participate in interactive activities and games.

    

INDIVDUAL CLASSES – 9:05 – 12:20     (Mon-Thurs for 2 weeks)

Students can take 1 or more individual classes offered during the morning. **Please note morning class time slot will not be finalized until shortly before camp begins.

 PRIVATE LESSONS – 9:00 – 12:30 or 1:30 -4:30pm slots (2 times per week M/W or Tu/Th for 4 weeks)

Students can take one-on-one 30-min private lessons in a wide variety of art forms including instrumental music, visual and performing arts.

YOUNG CHEFS (2 times per week M/W or Tu/Th grades 4th and up for 2 weeks)

Taught by a professional chef, students learn culinary fundamentals from cooking methods to knife work to sauces and more.

  • Adult supervision and involvement is required.
  • Ingredient purchase required.

I WANNA BE A POPSTAR

Create your own "Pop Persona" while studying vocal techniques, choreography, and costuming in order to become the next big thing!

INSTRUMENTAL IMPROVISATION

6-11

It’s one thing to play music, it’s another to be able to improvise. Practice the art of timing, extemporaneous composition, and confidence.

YOUNG COMPOSERS

5-7, 8-11

Students will learn how to create original music content, learn basic music theory, music notation, and apply it in our originals created as a class. Students will gain an understanding of the effort and value of teamwork.

WORLD MUSIC APPRECIATION

5-7, 8-11

Students tour the world of music and gain a musical as well as a cultural connection to various countries starting in melting pot of North American music followed by South America and then to Africa, Asia, and Australia.

MY FIRST PODCAST

8-11

Learn the art of creating your own podcast from creating content, recording techniques, building an audience and more.

DESCRIPTION

ROCK GUITAR

6-11

Rocking out on the electric guitar takes skill and style. Build the techniques needed to play your favorite rock licks.

PAINTER'S STUDIO

3-6, 7-11

Using acrylics and watercolor students create their own works of art while learning a variety of styles, techniques and methods of painting.

ME, MYSELF AND I

3-6, 7-11

This class should be required for every young person! Led by artist and motivational speaker "Ms. Gha'il", acting, creative writing and visual arts are used to build personal power, self-esteem and confidence.

DROPPING YOUR ALBUM

6-11

Do you want to know what it takes to write and release your first album? Learn step by step including songwriting, finding a producer and marketing to begin working on sharing your talent with the world.

LYRICIST IN THE MAKING

6-11

To explore the process in the creation of lyrics within various songs and originals created in class with a focal point on musicals. Originals will be performed at the conclusion of the session.

 

VIRTUAL TRIPS & GAMES – 1:30- 3:30pm (Offered Mon-Thurs grades 1- 8 for 2 weeks)

Students alternate between going on a virtual field trip one day and having online group game fun the next.  Each class runs 1 hour.

Online Field Trips – Students will take 4 interactive Virtual Field Trips to sites which can include but are not limited to: Smithsonian Museum, NASA, Atlanta Zoo, Center for Aquatic Sciences and more).

Game Time – Students will participate ininteractive group games and activitiesled by our Youth Leaders. Games encourage social engagement, critical thinking, and lots of fun!
