Students build skills in fingering, form, and proper bow technique, while learning the fundamentals of music theory including reading music. Students will work individually and collaboratively on exercises and song work building rhythm, timing, concentration, comprehension and coordination.

We will explore Japanese contemporary drawing styles to create anime characters of our own vision and design. Students will also learn basic animation techniques. Starting with basic drawing techniques, children will learn about and experience various mixed media and create their own characters and their own comic books.

Taught by a professional a Chef, students learn culinary fundamentals from cooking methods, knife work, sauces, and properly reading and executing a recipe. Students will prepare and eat their own meals every session.

Private Lessons are available in 24-week sessions from October to May. Lessons are scheduled individually by Institute staff. Private lessons are not covered for financial aid.

Students will learn rhythmic body movements combined with the vibrant rhythms of West African music in this fun and communal, hands-on drum class. You’ll learn basic techniques, call-and-response patterns, and basic rhythms on the djembe, as you practice traditional songs and movements in a shared group experience.

Students learn the basics of music theory including the music alphabet, scales, and key signatures. Students also practice identifying keys, reading notes and build skills in rhythm and timing while learning to play a variety of songs.
SATURDAY

An improvisational acting class that gives students a chance to use their voices, bodies and imaginations to create characters and tell stories. Students work on pantomime, expressing emotion, exploring new topics socially and emotionally and creating dialogue while becoming more comfortable and confident in front of others.
Class time will be spent on exploring foundation techniques associated with jewelry making Students will learn how to design and create handmade jewelry.
( Grades 3 - 6 )

Students build skills in drawing, painting and other mixed media that may include collage and sculpture. Color theory, composition and other fundamentals of visual arts will be explored.

Little ones have fun with movement and dance. Students will participate in physical exercises that build coordination, balance, and agility. Students will also explore a range of dance styles and will learn basic choreography that will have them dancing everywhere they go.

Fun and interactive activities and songs engage students in the movement and music. Students practice vocal technique including proper breathing, support and control to improve the quality and strength of their singing voices. By adding choreography, students learn how to use their bodies in combination with their voices to create a performance.

Students are introduced to various musical instruments and song including learning music notes and scales, music values and ear training while having fun exploring instruments, singing songs and participating in a wide range of fun activities.

Students practice vocal technique including proper breathing, support and control to improve the quality and strength of their singing voices. The class in enhanced by incorporating student centered creative projects to build to a final performance.
Small group collaboration and creativity work, understanding importance of using SM appropriately and responsibly.
( Grades 5 - 8 )
