PRIVATE LESSONS - Kids, Youth, Teens & Adults

• Students are evaluated by the instructor at the beginning of the semester and begin a program of study
• Parents are invited to attend open sessions throughout the 12-week semester to learn about the process and be informed about their child’s progress
• Private students must commit to at home practice and are provided with a practice booklet to keep track of theory homework and practice time.
• Each semester ends with a Showcase of students work where private students can share their progress and practice performing in front of a crowd.
*Guitar lessons can be shared if both students are at the same skill level
ENROLLING
SEMESTER INFO:
The Afterschool Institute is split into two 12-week semesters; Fall and Spring Classes take place in the evenings on Wednesday, Thursday & Friday and on Saturday mornings
PRICING INFORMATION:

$50 per year, per family
Tuition Policy:
Tuition may be paid in 2 ways:
Payment made in full at time of registration
Payments to be made in monthly installments. The first installment is due at time of registration.
Refund Policy:
No refunds will be issued after the 3rd class of a semester.
If a student withdraws from a class within the first three weeks, there will be a $50 registration charge and then the parent will be refunded the remainder of the cost of the program. This policy applies whether the student attended the session or not.
Discount Policy:
The discount for 1hr group class & ½ hr. private lesson applies to only one student. (This cannot be applied to 2 family members where one student wants a group class and the other wants a private lesson.)
If more than one child enrolls in a semester a 10% discount can be applied to the child with the equal or lesser tuition.
Attendance and Make-Up Class Policy:
Attendance is necessary to ensure student success in any arts program. Participants should try to limit absences.
Dropping a class: It is recommended that students attend 3 classes before they make a decision not to continue with a class.
Make-Up classes will only be issued if the Institute is unable to fulfill the semester’s scheduled dates; i.e.—due to inclement weather and/or if a teacher has to cancel a class due to illness. (In the event that the Institute cancels a class, a phone call will be made to all students/families, and a notice will be sent home to set-up a new date for the make-up class.)

The Institute of Music for Children is a not-for-profit arts organization committed to providing all youth and families with access to quality arts experiences. The Institute works intensely on fundraising to be able to offer classes and private lessons to our community at affordable prices—well below actual cost.
During these difficult economic times, when we’ve seen business and non-profits close their doors, the new Membership Program will allow us to continue to offer these low-cost classes and other services to our families.
$50 Family Annual Membership - Applies to all family members of the same immediate family.
