History

In 1995, the members of the Third-Westminster Presbyterian Church wanted to find a means of providing a service to its changing community. The schools were over-crowded and budgets were being slashed. The arts were being cut, if not totally eliminated from the curriculum. Realizing that one of the responsibilities of the church was to provide a safe place for the children in the community, the Institute of Music for Children was founded as a mission program of the church. As the years passed and the popularity of the program increased, the church recognized that continuing to provide the growing number of Institute families with affordable artistic training was too big to handle alone, the Institute was incorporated in 2003.
